Description
Altacode is looking for experienced developers and IT engineers to work in a dedicated team for a long-term project with an international client. We are in need of open-minded professionals with advanced technical and communication skills and practice in distributed teamwork and multitasking. Potential incumbents shall have a high sense of responsibility, commitment, and a result-driven mindset.
Senior DevOps and Observability Engineer will work closely with various teams and groups to facilitate continuous integration of their products using DevOps best practices and principles.
End-to-end responsibility for various Build Automation and CM tools (Maven, Gradle, GitLab, Jenkins ...) on a wide range of technologies and platforms (Linux, IOS, Windows, Docker ...)
Run infrastructure with tools like Chef, Terraform and Kubernetes and improve the deployment process.
Design, build, maintain and monitor cloud solution to allow scaling, alerts symptoms, easy debugging and support for customer incidents.

General Tasks:
Build and maintain continuous integration processes.
Support development and management infrastructure and integrate all systems to work as one.
Improve products’ dev cycle pipeline development, automation, and monitoring.
Write automation code and build tools to improve our scalability, capacity, and efficiency.
Explore integrate and mentor engineers with the latest DevOps methodologies.
Introduce tools and methodologies to improve existing processes.
Specific Tasks:
Develop and improve instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services.
Develop and maintain Monitoring and Logging Frameworks
Deliver Managed Services that cover the following domains:
Log Collection and Analysis
Operational Metrics
Distributed Tracing
Secrets Management
Container Build Standards
Required qualifications (optional)
Main Qualifications:
Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal skills; you are motivated and result oriented.
Extensive experience in a DevOps role in an agile environment - ideally coming from an SW development background.
In-depth experience with the implementation of CI /CD Pipelines and Containerization.
Experience in at least one of the following container orchestrators: Kubernetes/OpenShift/ECS.
Experience with Configuration Management, CI/CD (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab, Chef, and alike).
Strong scripting ability – Shell scripts & Python preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work and oversee between multiple engineering teams.
Ability to grasp new technologies quickly and multitask on multiple responsibilities while effectively understanding business needs.
Understanding and experience with one of the following cloud providers: AWS, GCP, Azure.
Specific Requirements:
Experience with metrics exporters and integrations (Node Exporter)
Experience with metrics collection and storage (Prometheus, InfluxDB, Cortex)
Experience with log collection and storage (Sumologic, Loki, ELK, Splunk)
Experience with metric and log query languages (PromQL, LogQL, Sumo Logic)
Experience with alert and notification management (Alertmanager, PagerDuty, Slack integrations)
Experience with building dashboards (Grafana, Loki, Sumologic, Tenable)
Experience with distributed tracing tools (Sentry, Jaeger, Zipkin)
Experience with application performance monitoring (DataDog)
Experience measuring the Golden Signals and DORA metrics
Experience with the Hashicorp tool ecosystem (Terraform, Vault, Consul)
Additional Skills:
Experience in remote collaboration and working with international teams.
Good technical and communication English.
Ability to work in shifted hours.
Easy learner, flexibility and adaptability.
Availability and readiness for international travel (short-term trips, trainings…).
Good team player, high level of commitment and responsibility, result-oriented.
