WHAT YOU WILL DO
We’re looking for a smart, enthusiastic person with a passion for software engineering to join Rivermeadow.
You will utilize your python skills to build products that automatically transport almost any client server to almost any cloud service. You will get your hands dirty with lots of OS internals. You will learn multiple public and private clouds and cloud APIs.
Development Engineer will be responsible for:
• Building and scaling our SaaS platform, specifically the migration engine
• Practicing agile development (SCRUM, XP) and Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Work closely with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, vSphere, vCloud.
• Working closely with energetic, experienced Developers, the Director of Engineering, and the CTO
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Experience in developing Linux systems or cloud platform software for virtualization, backup, cloning, network storage, or similar server technology.
• Programming experience - working with VMware and one of following AWS/Azure, Google Cloud.
• Comfortable in Python and C++
• Comfortable with unit testing, mock objects in Python (Just knowing that such thing exist is not good enough, sorry)
• Understanding of OS storage concepts: Disk, Partition, Volume, MBR, Grub. Being able to manipulate those on both Windows and Linux
• Basic understanding of IP routing, firewalls
• Experience using and implementing REST APIs
• Understanding of Windows/Linux Operating System installation and configuration process
• Git as source control system
NICE TO HAVE
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows system internals including boot, network and storage
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience with Google cloud, Azure, OpenStack
• Understanding of refactoring and design patterns
• DevOps experience
• Passion for mastering collaborative software development
